Summit Behavioral Health Group — Addiction Recovery & Relapse Prevention (Austin, TX)
About This Group
The Addiction Recovery & Relapse Prevention Group at Summit Behavioral Health Group provides daily clinical support for adults in recovery from substance use disorders. Led by Summit’s addiction-specialized clinicians, this group combines evidence-based relapse prevention therapy with motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral techniques, and peer support to help participants maintain sobriety, identify triggers, and build a sustainable recovery lifestyle.
What to Expect
This group meets daily (Monday through Friday) for 60-minute sessions, providing consistent structure and accountability for participants in early and ongoing recovery. Sessions alternate between psychoeducation (understanding addiction neuroscience, identifying triggers, building coping skills), process-oriented discussion (sharing experiences, challenges, and victories), and skill-building exercises (urge surfing, building a relapse prevention plan, developing healthy routines). The daily format creates a strong group cohesion and sense of community that is critical for sustained recovery.
Who It’s For
Adults (18+) in recovery from alcohol, opioid, stimulant, or other substance use disorders. This group is appropriate for individuals in early recovery, those stepping down from intensive outpatient programs, or anyone who wants structured daily support to maintain sobriety. Concurrent 12-step or other recovery program participation is encouraged but not required.
