Summit Behavioral Health Group — LGBTQ+ Affirming Support Circle (Austin, TX)

About This Group
The LGBTQ+ Affirming Support Circle at Summit Behavioral Health Group is a therapist-facilitated group providing a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals to explore identity, process minority stress, and build community. Summit is proud to be one of Austin’s most inclusive practices, and this group reflects that commitment with clinicians who bring both professional expertise and lived understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences.

What to Expect
This group meets weekly on Mondays for 90-minute sessions. The group is process-oriented, meaning that the content is driven by what participants bring each week rather than following a rigid curriculum. Common themes include coming out (at any stage of life), navigating family and relationship dynamics, managing minority stress and discrimination, building authentic self-expression, exploring gender identity and sexuality, and finding community. The group balances emotional processing with practical skill-building for resilience and self-advocacy.

Who It’s For
Adults (18+) who identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, nonbinary, or any other sexual or gender minority identity). The group is open to individuals at any stage of their identity journey.
