The Compassionate Friends Kalamazoo Chapter provides peer-led support for parents, siblings, and grandparents who have experienced the death of a child at any age and from any cause. Meeting twice monthly, this group offers consistent, ongoing support in a compassionate environment where bereaved families can share their grief and find understanding.

What to Expect

Meetings are peer-led by bereaved parents who have walked this path themselves. Sessions provide time for sharing, listening, and connecting with others who understand the profound grief of losing a child. There is no obligation to speak — listening is equally valued. The group welcomes newcomers at any time and offers a safe space for honest expression of grief, whether the loss is recent or occurred years ago.

The Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit organization with nearly 600 chapters across the United States, dedicated to supporting families after the death of a child. The Kalamazoo chapter has served the local community with steadfast compassion and peer support.
